The way Great Britain is reacting to Margaret Thatcher’s death is quite amazing. Never in the history of the nation (which includes Scotland of course), hatred to this extent is shown towards a senior leader who has just passed away and the preparations for state funeral (well, nearly) are under way.

Thatcher, the miner decimator – In Glasgow, Yorkshire, Wales and the whole of UK (including Brixton with large afro population) ex miners celebrate her death nearly drinking themselves to death.

Never ever a leader was so despised..considered repulsive around 30 years after she laid down power. It is all not because Thatcher was one of those heartless Tory aristocrats .. even royals like Diana who showed some sympathy to the cause of the downtrodden was lauded and near-worshipped in their death but Thatcher, the Iron Lady – ‘rust in Hell’. Her attitude made all the difference and what an attitude it was!
It will be a good idea if UK Government and Buckingham palace understand the common sentiments prevailing and feel the heat wave of hate for Thatcher sweeping the country. Let Lady Thatcher have a cosy private funeral for herself in the company of her friends and relatives and let the State and the nation at large be keet away from the proceedings. Don’t beam the ceremony worldwide on BBC World – the hate wave will only rise in intensity.
Thatcher years appear in retrospect as UK’s dark age. Let the nation be not reminded of that anymore.
