Junior 1 gifted me with a nice shirt and Junior 2 with a brand new mobile.
This jack ass is entering 60 on 28th and the kids have started the celebrations in right earnest, aided and abetted by my dear son-in-law.
How do you start it? Well, do it in style – calls from Steven Spielberg’s office about collaborating on a Hollywood script. Incidentally I was chatting with ‘CrossTalk’ RJ Balaji thru texting on my other mobile, when Team 1 pulled my leg thus. Full scores to them!!
All the while, Junior 2 patiently taught me how it is not only enough you press the enter button on the mobile touch pad but you have to pull and sweep your finger along, a la Zubin Metha in the midst of a C Minor note while conducting New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
I can operate any computer including ENIAC but give me a hand held device that too with a touch pad – I become jittery. While junior was taking me thru the process of answering an email on the mobile using the touch pad (I shall master it when I turn 70!), I accidentally woke up some of my Thai and Singapore friends from their well earned sleep by pressing all the wrong keys – oops.. dad why did you do that? I don’t know son!
And why are you holding it gingerly, dad?
jnaan oru inji alle. adhu kondu thanneda monE!
I asked him, ‘ what will happen if this mobile accidentally slips out of my hand?’
‘Appa, it is not fool proof’.
My children (and dear son in law), papa loves you so much!!
